Bruce Foster
 
Bruce Foster is currently an active performer in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mr. Foster serves as principal clarinet with the West Bay Opera and the New Music Works. In the summer, he performs at the Carmel Bach Festival. As a freelancer he works with Opera San Jose, the Santa Cruz Symphony, the Oakland Symphony, the Left Coast Chamber Ensemble and makes frequent appearances as a chamber musician at the San Francisco Conservatory.

Formerly he held the principal clarinet position with the Air Force Band of the Golden West and was a member of the Citywinds Woodwind Quintet. He enjoys teaching and currently serves on the faculty of the Preparatory and Adult Extension Division of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, the University of Notre Dame de Namur, Summer Music West, the Cazadero Performing Arts Camp, and the San Jose Youth
Symphony. Previously, he held positions at San Francisco University High School, Santa Clara University and the San Francisco School of the Arts. Mr. Foster received a B.M. in clarinet performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a M.A. in musicology from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
