Karen Rosenak
 
Karen Rosenak is an almost native of the Bay Area. She was a founding member and pianist of the Bay Area new music group Earplay as well as the Empyrean Ensemble, and became a core member of the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players in spring, 2003. When she's not playing new music, she enjoys playing traditional chamber music for piano and/or fortepiano. She will be featured on the Noe Valley chamber music series with Kati Kyme in a violin and fortepiano recital in January, 2004. She studied modern piano with Carlo Bussotti and Nathan Schwartz, and fortepiano with Margaret Fabrizio. She has been on the faculty at UC Berkeley since 1990, where she teaches musicianship and contemporary chamber music
