Jean-Michel Fonteneau Jean-Michel Fonteneau is a founding member of the award-wining Ravel String Quartet, winner of two prizes in the Evian String Quartet Competition in 1989 as well as the "Les Victoires de la Musique Classique" award for the best French chamber music ensemble in 1993. He is also a founding member of the piano trio Le Nouveau Trio du Val-Marné. Mr. Fonteneau has performed with many organizations including the Orchestre de' l'Opéra de Lyon, Orchestral, Ensemble National de Lyon Orchestral de Chambre Français, Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, Ensemble Orchestral Harmonioa Nova and Orchestre de Chambre de Bretagne. He has youred and performed throughout the United States, Japan, England, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, Southeast Asia and Central and South America. He has been assistant professor of chamber music at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon since 1991, and a member of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music faculty since 1999. Mr. Fonteneau studied at the Ecole Normale Supérieur de Musique de Paris with Dimitry Markevitch, Mark Drobinsky and Dominique Hoppenot.
