Known for his comic acting as Papageno, Schaunard, Dandini, and Pooh-bah, Steven “Sven” Olbash (BMus, Boston University; MM, New England Conservatory) was dubbed “a flamingo in human form” by Boston’s Theatre Mirror for his “double-jointed antics” in The Incompleat Works of Gilbert & Sullivan. A specialist in 20th century music, he performs regularly with the professional new music ensemble Volti and has appeared with the Other Minds festival. He is the director of Les Choristes, vocal quartet in-residence at the French National Church in San Francisco and has acted as French diction coach for the chorus of SF Lyric Opera.
