Van Hughs Van Hughs, trombone, has been a professional musician for over fifty years and has been teaching for over forty years. Mr. Hughs has played with performers such as Louie Bellson, Thad Jones, Marvin Gaye, Isaac Hayes, Earl Hines, Buddy Greco and others, and has traveled with the Woody Herman Orchestra and recorded with Duke Ellington. Van has played in bands backing up Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis, Jr., Frank Sinatra, Nancy Wilson, Peggy Lee and many others.
