| Shirley Hunt Shirley Edith Hunt, viola da gamba, makes herself known in the Los Angeles area and beyond as a masterful cross-genre interpreter and veritable renaissance woman. She is dedicated to delivering vibrant, committed performances of old and new music alike, and is equally at home performing on modern and historical instruments. As a baroque cellist, Shirley has performed with Musica Angelica, Bach Collegium San Diego, Chicago’s Music of the Baroque and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. Shirley received her Master of Music degree in 2008 from the USC Thornton School of Music, and earned her undergraduate diploma in 2006 from Northwestern University, where she first discovered the viola da gamba as a student of Mary Springfels.
