Daniel Cilli
 
A native of Florida, baritone Daniel Cilli performs on the operatic and concert stages of a growing number of noteworthy companies and festivals throughout the United States. Mr. Cilli’s recent opera roles include- at West Bay Opera: Lescaut (Manon Lescaut), with Houston Grand Opera: Yamadori/Imperial Commissioner (Madama Butterfly), the Geographer (The Little Prince), and Bion/Geezer 1 (Lysistrata, Adamo), at Amarillo Opera: Schaunard (La Boheme), at the Aspen Music Festival: Legal Counsel (Intermezzo, Strauss), with Central City Opera: Painter Monk (Le Jongleur de Notre Dame, Massenet), Dr. Engel (The Student Prince, youth performance), Hermann (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), and Tom/John (Face on the Barroom Floor), with Utah Symphony & Opera: Wagner (Faust), Jake Wallace (La Fanciulla del West), Malatesta (Don Pasquale, tour), Nireno (Giulio Cesare), at San Francisco Lyric Opera: Tarquinius (The Rape of Lucretia). His soloist performances in concert include: The Execution of Stepan Razin (Shostakovich) - Lawrence University; Choral Fantasy (Beethoven) - Aspen Music Festival, Messiah (Handel) - Utah Symphony & Opera; Brilliant Sky, Infinite Sky (Kernis) - Tanglewood Music Festival.

Mr. Cilli studied Lieder at the Franz Schubert Institute in Baden bei Wien Austria in 2001; and attained performance degrees from Stetson University in 1999 and New England Conservatory of Music in 2002. This season marks with leading roles while a resident artist at Opera San Jose: Mercutio (Romeo et Juliette), Figaro (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Baron Douphol (La Traviata), Sharpless (Madama Butterfly).
