Since 2003, rarescale have been actively promoting the alto flute repertoire around the world. Led by Carla Rees, who has commissioned over 50 new works for the alto flute, their program includes three US premieres, as well as local composer John Bilotta’s impromptu Shadow Tree for flute and guitar, and Toru Takemitsu’s haunting solo-guitar work Equinox.
