Now in their third season, the Laurel Ensemble has quickly established itself as one of the most exciting chamber groups in the Bay Area. Praised for their sophisticated interpretation and polished performances, they deliver innovative chamber music repertoire to their audiences. In this special program they present four of Stravinsky’s chamber pieces, showing a broad spectrum of the composer’s varied style of writing. As homage to Stravinsky, the program will also feature other chamber pieces by three American composers Aaron Copland, James Cohn, and Joan Tower that echo Stravinsky’s compositional style.
