John Parr returns with the thirteenth in his exquisitely curated Basically British series, highlighting chamber works and songs by British composers. Head of staff at the San Francisco Opera, Parr brings with him several members of the Opera and Ballet Orchestras in a program featuring Frank Bridge’s Cobbett Competition–winning Phantasie Quartet. Also featured are works by George Onslow, admired by Schubert and considered by Schumann to be among the ranks of Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven.
