The Lee Duo started performing together in Korea at the age of 4 and 7. Violist Caroline and pianist Aeri have collaborated together for over 20 years to champion less familiar viola repertoire throughout United States and Canada. Making their San Francisco debut, they will be performing works by two Russian masters, Glinka's unfinished viola sonata and Shostakovich's epic viola sonata, his last work before his death in 1975. The second half will be music of Max Bruch and Hindemith, both of whom have made significant contribution to repertoire for the viola.
