Pianist Frank Wiens is quite simply one of the most celebrated and talented musicians ever to appear at Old First Concerts. One of California's premiere concert pianists, he has toured the US, Europe, Russia and Asia, soloed with the Atlanta, Denver, Detroit, and other symphony orchestras, won numerous prestigious competitions, and been lavishly praised for his "...commanding manner ... grandeur and power" (The Times, London), "...magisterial conception" (New York Times), and "eloquent phrasing and nobility of conception" (Los Angeles Times). His recital today consists of an all-Chopin program.
