Johann Sebastian Bach Mass in B minor

Bach’s spiritual magnum opus glorifies both voice and instrument as the orchestra wings the listener to heaven with brilliant harmonies, depth of sound and great blazing choruses burnished with trumpets. Santa Rosa Symphony Choral Director Robert Worth directs the Sonoma Bach Choir, five outstanding soloists and principal musicians of the orchestra in a concert that will enthrall every listener. Expect to be thrilled in a new way by this interpretation of Bach’s beloved masterpiece. The Santa Rosa Symphony (SRS) has provided outstanding orchestral music for the Bay Area for 84 years. It is the third oldest orchestra in the state of California and the largest regional symphony north of Los Angeles. The organization performs 37 concerts in its 2012-2013 season during which it will open as the Resident Orchestra of the new world-class Weill Hall at the Green Music Center in Sonoma County. For the past 10 years, the SRS has presented Sacred Music in Sacred Spaces—choral music in acoustically-excellent venues, primarily in area churches such as Old First Church.
