The Konevets Quartet, named for the Konevets Monastery northeast of St. Petersburg, Russia, is a remarkable chamber choir consisting of four individually distinguished choir composers and arrangers who have dedicated themselves to acquainting audiences around the world with Russian sacred music--from twentieth century hymns to ancient chants--Russian folk songs, regimental songs from the Tsarist era, and choral music created by poets and composers such as Pushkin and Tchaikovsky. As musical ambassadors of Russian music, they have performed in a score of international festivals in America and Europe.
