Melody of China – Old First Concerts

Melody of China will present a concert on November 5th featuring a new work by Francis Wong, entitled Shanghai Stories. The piece makes use of Chinese traditional instruments together with saxophone, trumpet, bass and drums. Set in a jazz context, Shanghai Stories celebrates the intersection of musical cultures which thrived in Shanghai, China during the 1920’s and ’30’s. The program will also feature traditional Chinese music, including a new work by Melody of China resident composer Dawei Wang.

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.

An excellent opportunity for students, seniors, or anyone who possesses a love for music!
