San Francisco's Home for Great Concerts since 1970

Stepping Out with SOTA – January 17, 2014

The “Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts” chamber music program, directed by Ava Soifer, presents a concert by students & faculty. Performing works for mixed ensembles, solo & duo piano, students from the piano, orchestra and band departments come together to create an exciting program including works by Bernstein, Barber, Piazzolla, Ewazen, Arensky, Bruch, Schumann, & Chopin. Performers include distinguished SOTA faculty Brad Hogarth, trumpet & Ava Soifer, piano. SOTA is a public arts High School offering free quality arts and academic education since 1982. Students from the music departments have matriculated to conservatories and music programs across the country including Julliard, Oberlin, New England Conservatory, Curtis, USC, Berklee College of Music, UCLA and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Old First Concerts has volunteer opportunities available!

Our concerts rely on the generosity of volunteers to assist with simple tasks like:

ushering

distributing programs

box office

set-up and clean-up

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.

An excellent opportunity for students, seniors, or anyone who possesses a love for music!
