Kevin Kenner headlines the San Francisco Chopin Foundation’s annual Chopin’s birthday concert with piano favorites from Chopin and Paderewski. Doors open at 3 pm for birthday cake and champagne followed by the concert at 4 pm.
Hear the ensemble SFCV calls a “hip, unstuffy, and malleable group of high-quality chamber musicians who are dedicated to fresh programming”in a performance of works by Fauré, Jose Gonzalez Granero, and Sheridan Seyfried.
Ives Collective’s winter program features violinist Kay Stern and pianist Elizabeth Schumann in works of fugal composition (lots of “subjects”!), including the World Premiere of Kamyar Mohajer’s Fugue for String Trio.
Works by Julius Eastman including a selection of religious works as well as Crazy Nigger, presented here with four pianos, programmed by composer and pianist Luciano Chessa.
