Duo Cantando – Old First Concerts

Le Grand Tango by Astor Piazzolla; PiÃ¨ce en forme de Habanera by Maurice Ravel; Sonata for â€˜Cello and Piano by FaurÃ©; Pampeana by Alberto Ginastera; and other worksA vibrant and stirring testament to and evocation of all the searing emotion that their instruments are capable of takes place when versatile pianist Paula Dreyer joins with ‘cellist Kelley Maulbetsch as the Duo Cantando to present an evening of music by French, Argentinean and Spanish composers. The performers broad musical backgrounds, ranging from symphonic concert to flamenco ensemble, are movingly evident in the virtuosity they bring to a program of emotionally gripping works.
