Golden Circle Sextet – Sunday, June 23 at 4 pm

Golden Circle Sextet

Dan Neville, vibraphone; Rebecca Kleinmann, alto flute; Destiny Muhammad, harp; Gaea Schell, piano; Shimpei Ogawa, bass; Pepe Jacobo, drums

Dan Neville, award winning vibraphonist and composer, and Rebecca Kleinmann, internationally acclaimed flutist and composer, feature their sextet for Old First Concerts, presenting their own unique blend of Jazz, Afro Cuban and Colombian music. Combining eclectic influences with an uncommon instrumentation, Golden Circle sifts the beautiful textures of lush harp, flute and vibraphone together with a hard swinging and dynamic jazz rhythm section. You will find yourself on the edge of your seat with this progressive, soulful and rich sounding ensemble. Their performance will feature original music by Dan Neville and Rebecca Kleinmann, including compositions off their debut album Tenerife. Golden Circle will also premiere two commissioned arrangements: Red Clay by Freddie Hubbard, and Respeto A La Tierra by San Francisco Bay Area Cuban group Conjunto Céspedes. Golden Circle Sextet is a one of a kind ensemble that represents the creative music scene of the San Francisco Bay Area. For more information visit danvibes.com/golden-circle-sextet
