Keith Snell – Old First Concerts

Bach selection of two preludes, and Chaconneselection of etudes by Sergei Bortkiewicz, Felix Blumenfeld, Leopold Godowsky, and Moritz Moszkowski.Steinway Artist and respected piano pedagogue Keith Snell returns to Old First Concerts. After an eighteen-year battle with focal dystonia of the right hand, Mr. Snell reappeared on the concert circuit in 2006, performing piano music written for the left hand alone. Since then, he has filled concert venues in the US, UK, and Asia, where he has delighted audiences (and left them in awe that so much music could come from one hand!) with masterworks from this rarely heard genre. The program will include the West Coast premiere of Verbs, Book 2 by Kathleen Ryan, which was commissioned in 2008 by the Music TeachersÊ¼ National Association for Mr. Snell.
