Left Coast Chamber Ensemble

Kurt Rohde Concertino for violin and small ensemble (2009/2010)ONE for speaking pianist on texts of Paul Mann (2009)Four Remixes for piano trio (2011)As the Left Coast Chamber Ensemble prepares to record it new CD of works by Kurt Rohde, they are performing some of the music that will be on the forthcoming recording. Kurt Rohde is violist with Left Coast Chamber Ensemble and the New Century Chamber Orchestra, and recipient of the Rome Prize and the Berlin Prize in composition. The three works on the program reflect his changing approach to composing, featuring works that are filled with light, motion, space and simple lyrical lines. Rohdes Concertino for violin and small ensemble (2010) features violin extraordinaire Axel Strauss, Four Remixes for Piano Trio (2010) will be performed by LCCE core members Anna Presler (violin), Tanya Tomkins (‘cello) and Eric Zivian (piano), and ONE for speaking pianist on texts of Paul Mann (2009) showcases the exceptional talents of Genevieve Lee (piano).
