Mike Greensill Quartet – October 6, 2013

Piano player Mike Greensill, who’s singing more often himself these days, will pay tribute to those unique talents, the “singing pianists”. Aiding and abetting in this task is Mike’s wife and master vocalist, Wesla Whitfield. They’ll chose songs that stretch from Fats Waller’s I’m Crazy ‘Bout My Baby, to Nat Cole’s Let There Be Love, to Mose Allison’s Parchman Farm, to Jimmy Rowles’ masterpiece, The Ballad of Thelonious Monk, as well as repertoire from such talents as Bobby Short, Shirley Horn, Ray Charles, Dave Frishberg, Bob Dorough, and Charles Brown.

Old First Concerts has volunteer opportunities available!

Our concerts rely on the generosity of volunteers to assist with simple tasks like:

ushering

distributing programs

box office

set-up and clean-up

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.

An excellent opportunity for students, seniors, or anyone who possesses a love for music!
