Noemy Gagnon-Lafrenais & Mack McCray – April 19, 2013

Mozart Sonata in G major, K. 379Grieg Sonata No. 2 in G minor, Op. 13Beethoven Sonata in A major, Op. 47Québecoise violinist Noémy Gagnon-Lafrenais is joined by pianist Mack McCray in a concert featuring beloved works by Mozart, Grieg, and Beethoven. Gagnon-Lafrenais recent professional engagements include San Francisco Bach Choir and the concertmaster position of Symphony Parnassus. With a background of early and contemporary music and an intensive chamber music training, she is attempting to create a bridge between the Historical Performance movement and the so-called Modern scene. Mack McCray is well known to Bay Area audiences, and beyond. His distinguished career features numerous highlights, including a silver medal in the International George Enesco Competition, first prizes in the Charleston Symphony and San Francisco Young Artists competitions, the U.S. premiere of John Adamss Eros Piano, the Artistic Director of Zephyr International Chamber Music Festival, and the Chairman of the Piano Department and Co-chair of the Chamber Music Program at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
