Wintersongs is Kitka’s critically-acclaimed and wildly popular December concert offering.
For centuries, communities around the world have utilized the power of collective singing to summon warmth, cheer, and spiritual connection to sustain themselves through the challenges and uncertainties of the coldest and darkest season.
Kitka’s voices joyfully bestow musical blessings for health, hope, peace, good fortune, and the return of the light as the Winter Solstice and New Year draw near.
Kitka’s 2022 Wintersongs program theme is “Shchedry Vechir” (Ukrainian for “A Generous Evening”, a common phrase in traditional Ukrainian holiday carols). This concert will feature sacred and secular Ukrainian songs for the season while raising awareness of, and funds for, a variety of organizations addressing the current humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
