Resonance Jazz Ensemble – Old First Concerts

Works by Steve McQuarry, Gil Evans/Miles Davis, Keith Jarrett, George Gershwin, Jimmy Heath, Kurt Weill and Ira Gerswhin, Lennon and McCartney, Clare Fischer, Gustav Holst, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Duke Ellington, Stanly Clarke, and William Engvick, Morty Palitz, and Alex Wilder. This singularly unique jazz octet is the only one in the Bay area with this kind of unusual instrumentation. The octet performs various original standards by Steve McQuarry, Bandleader, and includes deliciously creative arrangements of jazz standards, pop music and classical favorites with woodwinds, strings and a rhythm section that includes piano, double-bass and drums. This program will include musical pieces that will remind us of this special time of year, such as Summertime, Sunday Afternoon and Moon and Sand.

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.
