The Laurel Ensemble

Intermezzo for String Trio and Three Hungarian Dances for Violin & Piano by Kodály; Trio for Flute, ‘Cello & Piano by Martinu; Piano Quintet in G minor, Op. 57 by Shostakovich Since its founding in 2005 by local chamber and orchestra musicians who had frequently performed together on an irregular basis over the years, the Laurel Ensemble has proceeded to utterly captivate audiences throughout the Bay Area with its dynamic and passionate performances of a broad range of compositional styles. Specializing in chamber music created for mixed strings, winds and keyboard, the ensemble’s instrumental makeup varies according to the specific musical selections. Tonight they present masterpieces and hidden gems from Russia and Eastern Europe.
