San Francisco's Home for Great Concerts since 1970

The Opera Academy of California

Join Opera Academy of California for a unique style of performance and education event at a Master Class with San Francisco Conservatory teacher and Metropolitan and San Francisco opera singer Catherine Cook. Brilliant singers from around the country will present some of the best known works from the opera repertoire and receive real time education in vocal performance technique and presentation from this world class Master Voice Teacher. American mezzo-soprano Catherine Cook has excelled in a wide range of roles with leading companies throughout the United States, including the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Los Angeles Opera and the Houston Grand Opera. Cook was a former Merola participant and Adler Fellow with the San Francisco Opera. Cook is a graduate of the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she was the winner of the Norman Triegle Award in opera and the same year was a Metropolitan National Council Winner. In addition to maintaining a full voice studio, she holds annual audition workshops in the Bay Area and teaches Audition Workshop for Singers at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Old First Concerts has volunteer opportunities available!

Our concerts rely on the generosity of volunteers to assist with simple tasks like:

ushering

distributing programs

box office

set-up and clean-up

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.

An excellent opportunity for students, seniors, or anyone who possesses a love for music!
