Thomas Schultz

Walking, Walking by Hyo-shin Na and the World Premiere of Long Piano (Peace March 11) by Christian Wolff
Extolled by Chronicle music critic Joshua Kosman for his “strong, fearless execution,” “depth of feeling,” and “fiery elegance and formal command,” pianist Thomas Schultz is particularly valued for demonstrating the ongoing vitality of the piano repertoire by performing major new additions thereto. This evenings very special recital consists of two important new compositions: Hy-shin Na’s meditation on Victor Jaras “Caminando, Caminando,” followed by the premiere of an hour-long work written expressly for Mr. Schultz by the estimable American composer Christian Wolff.
