Vox Musica

Vox Musica has a tradition of presenting inventive concerts to celebrate the yearly anniversary of its inception. Keeping with that tradition, Vox Musica will perform The East, a concert of music inspired by eastern influences, including new music from Persia and Georgia. A composer of works performed by the worlds major choral companies, Minnesotan Abbie Betnis will be featured with a regional premiere of her multi-movement work, From Behind the Caravan: Songs of Hâfez. Also programmed are the world premieres of two new works written especially for Vox Musica, by regional composers, Matthew Grasso and Lua Hightower. With their technically brilliant talas and ragas, The Nada Brahma Music Ensemble, a local classical Indian fusion group will accompany Vox Musica and set the tone for this program.

Old First Concerts has volunteer opportunities available!

Our concerts rely on the generosity of volunteers to assist with simple tasks like:

ushering

distributing programs

box office

set-up and clean-up

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.

An excellent opportunity for students, seniors, or anyone who possesses a love for music!
