Basically British VIII

Two Lieder for voice, viola and piano by Johannes Brahms; Three Songs for voice and viola by Frank Bridge; A Charm of Lullabies, Op. 41 by Benjamin Britten; songs by Bridge and BrahmsMezzo-Soprano Katherine Rohrer’s work with the Gotham Chamber Opera drew praise from the New York press, the Times declaring her “deeply impressive” and the Sun applauding her “real gusto” and “rich voice.” Now, coming off a May appearance with the Lyon Opera in France, this 2003 and 2004 Adler-Fellow headlines our eighth Basically British concert in collaboration with local luminaries John Parr and Elizabeth Prior Runnicles, and joined by current Adler-Fellow Rhoslyn Jones, in a salute to Britain’s classical music “B-list.”
