Under the direction of Joyce Todd McBride, this powerful 25-woman vocal ensemble interprets the songs of greats like David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Björk, Joni Mitchell, Pixies, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, and many more. Conspiracy of Venus always puts on a lively show and never fails to surprise audiences with their provocative repertoire and dynamic vocalization.

Now in their thirteenth season, the choir has matured into a versatile and adventurous instrument of voices that entertains in listening rooms, music festivals, churches, and dive bars alike. Conspiracy of Venus recently performed as part of the 2019 San Francisco International Arts Festival as well as the 2018 San Francisco Leonard Cohen Festival.

Director Joyce Todd hails from Berkeley, California. She attended Mills College, UCSC, and University of Pennsylvania. Ms. McBride is a passionate teacher of piano and voice, and plays and sings in several jazz-inflected local groups.

Our concerts rely on the generosity of volunteers to assist with simple tasks like:

distributing programs

box office

set-up and clean-up

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.

An excellent opportunity for students, seniors, or anyone who possesses a love for music!
