Esther Landau – Old First Concerts

Flautist Esther Landau specializes in performances of new music, having worked directly with such composers as Elliott Carter and Luciano Berio. For this recital she is joined by a group of talented Bay Area musicians in a program including sonatas by J. S. Bach, Bohuslav Martinu, and the chamber ensemble premiere of local composer June Bonacich’s Rumpelstiltskin. The program will conclude with some traditional Bulgarian melodies played on the kaval (Bulgarian flute).
