She is also active as a solo artist–her repertoire encompasses a huge range of interests, from Beethoven and Schumann to Chopin, Poulenc, Liszt, and Janáček, to Shostakovich, Gubaidulina, and Ligeti. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, where she made her orchestral debut under Gunther Schuller, and coached chamber music with Isaac Stern, Martin Katz, Gerard Souzay, and Warren Jones.
