Holiday Guitar Concert to Celebrate the Season – December 6, 2013

Come and hear Lawrence Ferrara, soloist and ensemble director for the annual San Francisco Holiday Guitar Concert presenting works that bring cheer and delight to the holiday season and New Year. In addition to solo, and ensemble performances, Mr. Ferrara will perform a special arrangement of Rodrigo’s guitar concerto, Fantasia Para un Gentilhombre arranged for soloist and guitar quartet. Also, you will hear Gaspar Sanz’s Suite Española, the music of Sanz that inspired the great Spanish composer Joaquìn Rodrigo (1901–1999) to create his unique work Fantasia Para un Gentilhombre. Other works performed will include the traditional holiday and New Year classics, Tchaikovskys Nutcracker Suite and Holsts St. Paul Suite arranged for 4 guitars.

Old First Concerts has volunteer opportunities available!

Our concerts rely on the generosity of volunteers to assist with simple tasks like:

ushering

set-up and clean-up

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.
