Girlkulture gives a glimpse of the journey Weimar-era composers like Weill, Spoliansky and Hollaender made as they moved from the cabarets of Berlin to the stages of Broadway and the studios of Hollywood. Their revue of the dreamgirls of yesterday continues as they perform Andrews Sisters songs of the 40’s, the witty ditties of Porter and the cabaret-style songs of Bolcom. They just might surprise you as they give a taste of the Motown era, a dash of Sondheim and their own rendition of Kander & Ebb’s Cell Block Tango from Chicago.
