New to the Ives Collective, guest tenor Brian Thorsett and violist Jessica Chang join us along with our dear friends, pianist Keisuke Nakagoshi and violinist Roy Malan, for our spring program …the poppies blow… to honor the 100th anniversary of the end of World War 1. The pieces on this program were either written during the Great War or were composed by artists who served during the conflict. Josef Suk’s Meditation, Op. 35, is a quietly defiant work written for a concert where occupying German forces were in the audience.

Old First Concerts has volunteer opportunities available!

Our concerts rely on the generosity of volunteers to assist with simple tasks like:

ushering

distributing programs

box office

set-up and clean-up

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.

An excellent opportunity for students, seniors, or anyone who possesses a love for music!

If you’d like to consider volunteering with Old First Concerts, please contact curtishuth@oldfirstconcerts.org for more information.
