San Francisco's Home for Great Concerts since 1970

Keith Porter-Snell – April 13, 2014

Keith Porter-Snell returns to Old First Concerts with an all new program of piano music for the left hand alone. He is joined by ‘cellist Emil Miland for the US premiere of Stephen Houghs new Sonata for ‘Cello and Piano, Left Hand. The program will also include the sumptuously beautiful Prelude and Nocturne of Scriabin, and the energetic music of Erwin Schulhoff—an early 20th century composer, silenced by the Nazi regime, whose wonderful music has been re-discovered in the last decade. In 2012, Keith played Verbs, Book Two, by Kathleen Ryan; on this recital he will complete the set by performing Verbs, Book One. If youve never heard a left hand only piano recital, dont hesitate: you are in for a treat! keithsnellpianist.com

Old First Concerts has volunteer opportunities available!

Our concerts rely on the generosity of volunteers to assist with simple tasks like:

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.
