martha & monica – Old First Concerts

Variations on a Schubert Theme by Edison Denisov; PohÃ¡dka (Fairy Tale) by Leos JanÃ¡cek; Sonata No. 3 in A major, Op. 69 by Ludwig van Beethoven; Pampeanas No. 2 by Alberto Ginasteramartha & monica performs an international, wide-ranging program of fantastic music for â€˜cello and piano. The pair continues an ongoing exploration into the connections between history, literature and musicâ€“from a Russian iconoclastic “re-composing” of a beloved Schubert Impromptu, glorious Beethoven, PohÃ¡dka (inspired by romantic poet Vasily Zhukovsky’s The Tale of Tsar Berendei), to the plains of Argentina.

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.
