Meng-Chieh Liu, piano

E-flat major, D. 568; C major, ‘Relique’, D.840; A minor, D. 845″Liu is a musical visionary with unusual insights… a pianist whose playing sounded as natural as breathing,” declared The Toronto Star in extolling the virtuosity of Meng-Chieh Liu, which had been evident to critics and observers since he began advanced piano studies at age 13 at Philadelphia’s Curtis Institute of Music. A prodigy grown into an internationally renowned artist, tonight Liu makes the first in a series of four Old First Concerts appearances devoted to performing the complete piano sonatas of Franz Schubert.

Old First Concerts has volunteer opportunities available!

Our concerts rely on the generosity of volunteers to assist with simple tasks like:

ushering

distributing programs

box office

set-up and clean-up

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.

An excellent opportunity for students, seniors, or anyone who possesses a love for music!
