S.F.P.Q. – Old First Concerts

S.F.P.Q.’s new and exciting way of presenting chamber music repertoire in their Six Degrees series explores the six degrees of separation of DvorÃ¡k’s time in the US and how he influenced a new generation of American composers. Using DvorÃ¡k’s Piano Quartet in E flat major, Op. 87 as a point of departure, Avi Downes will narrate the program, drawing connections between DvorÃ¡k’s work and compositions by Harry Burleigh, George Gershwin, Rebecca Clarke, Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein and Sam Bass.
