A shimmering cast of Bay Area artists joins forces with local composers to present the World Premieres of two new short operas and a sprinkling of new songs and vocalise. Soprano Winnie Nieh, mezzo-soprano Nikola Printz, bass-baritone Sidney Chen, cellist Doug Machiz, and pianists Monica Chew and Chesley Mok perform the world premieres of Earth Journeys—a tale about the planet and its inhabitants by Davide Verotta; The COVID Bake-Off—a story of baking, COVID, and revenge by Monica Chew and librettist Sandra Flores-Strand; and new songs and vocalise by S. A. Workman. All composers will be present and happy to field questions after the concert.

Old First Concerts has volunteer opportunities available!

Our concerts rely on the generosity of volunteers to assist with simple tasks like:

ushering

distributing programs

box office

set-up and clean-up

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.

An excellent opportunity for students, seniors, or anyone who possesses a love for music!

If you’d like to consider volunteering with Old First Concerts, please contact curtishuth@oldfirstconcerts.org for more information.
