San Francisco's Home for Great Concerts since 1970

The Odessa Trio

In their inaugural concert the new/old Odessa Trio, an outgrowth of the popular percussion “plus” group, Adesso, will bodaciously show that Bay Area composers “know how”. Running the gamut through throbbing, heartbreaking, transcendent, jazzy, and even March Madness, the Odessa Trio will feature premiers and repeat hits by local luminaries: Alexis Alrich, award-winning composer who divides her life and enriches her creative stimuli between San Francisco and another Bay Area, Hong Kong. An aria from Shinji Eshimas new opera Mary Shelleys Frankenstein, well known for his many theater works for local companies, and fresh from his February triumph with the San Francisco Ballet, RAkU. Howard Hersh, founder of the San Francisco Conservatory New Music Ensemble, with Loop and Full Court Press, written for our group! D’Arcy Reynolds, founder of the San Francisco Chapter of the American Composers Forum and Dharma Gate Music, with untraditional music for traditional instrumentation. And immortal music by the dear departed John Cage.

Old First Concerts has volunteer opportunities available!

Our concerts rely on the generosity of volunteers to assist with simple tasks like:

ushering

set-up and clean-up

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.

An excellent opportunity for students, seniors, or anyone who possesses a love for music!
