Wooden Fish Ensemble

The Wooden Fish Ensemble celebrates the music of Young-ja Lee in honor of the composers 80th birthday. They will perform a selection of her songs and piano works, as well as premiere a new work for koto ensemble. Back in 2003 a few friends in San Francisco played a concert and called themselves the Wooden Fish Ensemble. A fish with eyes always open … the possibility, the ideal, of being always alert. Another possibility maybe more natural to us: to be, in a certain sense, disorganized. No leader, no director, a malleability of direction, sound, audience. The Wooden Fish Ensemble believes in presenting musicians from different cultural and national backgrounds in a collaborative way.

Old First Concerts has volunteer opportunities available!

Our concerts rely on the generosity of volunteers to assist with simple tasks like:

ushering

distributing programs

box office

set-up and clean-up

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.

An excellent opportunity for students, seniors, or anyone who possesses a love for music!

If you’d like to consider volunteering with Old First Concerts, please contact curtishuth@oldfirstconcerts.org for more information.
