Young Composers Series – Old First Concerts

Melody of China presents the second concert of their Young Composers Series, inaugurated on our series last summer. Already known for their commissions from major composers such as Kui Dong, Belinda Reynolds, Yuanlin Chen and Dan Becker in collaboration with Western instrument ensembles like the Del Sol String Quartet, Citywinds and the San Francisco Guitar Quartet, Melody of China bring their adventurous spirit and expert musicianship to a new, young generation of Bay Area composers. The program features World Premieres of works by Eric Myers, Dawei Wang, Alan Chan, Albert Chang and Bik Lee that seek to break down cultural barriers in an effort to bring Chinese instruments into the mainstream.

set-up and clean-up

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.

An excellent opportunity for students, seniors, or anyone who possesses a love for music!
