An Evening of Janácek

V Mlhách (In the Mist); Concertino for piano & small chamber orchestra; On an Overgrown Path by Leos JanácekSince 2004, pianist Carol Isaac has been a virtual one-woman ambassador for the works of classical Czech and Moravian composers, presenting recitals of representative works from that repertoire throughout the United States, including a previous Old First Concerts appearance wherein she performed Leos Janácek’s song cycle, Diary of One Who Vanished, with tenor Jay Hunter Morris. Continuing this series, tonight she offers a recital of piano works by Janácek, one of the premiere Czech composers, accompanied by members of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra.

Old First Concerts has volunteer opportunities available!

Our concerts rely on the generosity of volunteers to assist with simple tasks like:

ushering

distributing programs

box office

set-up and clean-up

Scheduling is flexible — you choose when to work! We especially need helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.

An excellent opportunity for students, seniors, or anyone who possesses a love for music!

If you’d like to consider volunteering with Old First Concerts, please contact curtishuth@oldfirstconcerts.org for more information.
