World Premieres by Dan Becker, Samuel Carl Adams, Frank Wallace, and Belinda Reynolds.There’s a new wave of energy and excitement thrumming through the San Francisco contemporary classical music scene and, whether you choose to call it Alt-Classical, Indie Classical, or Classi-Cool, Mobius Trio are at its forefront. Though at its core the Trio is a group of three classically-trained guitarists, their Old First program is a cornucopia of the nontraditional, featuring amplification, electronics, various types of guitars, a plethora of extended techniques, and one very saucy subwoofer. Every piece on the program, and indeed any Mobius program, is a recent commission, unique to the Trio – featured composers include Dan Becker, Samuel Carl Adams, Frank Wallace, and Belinda Reynolds.
