Andrew Fouts
 
Violinist and violist Andrew Fouts currently resides, teaches, and freelances in the San Francisco Bay Area. He attended the Eastman School of Music, where he studied violin with Mitchell Stern and Charles Castleman. While at Eastman, he began playing Baroque viola when working with Paul O'Dette in Eastman's Collegium Musicum. Mr. Fouts continued his early music study on violin and viola at Tafelmusik's Baroque Summer Institute in Toronto. He has performed in the Berkeley Fringe Festival, the Quartet Program, L'Academie de Musique de Sion, Musica nel Chiostro, and Symphony in the Barn. Recent concerts include performances with the American Bach Soloists, the Arcangeli Baroque Strings, and, in Toronto, the Madrone String Quartet. Mr. Fouts has recorded Steve Reich's The Desert Music for Canteloupe Records and has been heard in recital on Buffalo's NPR affiliate. He performs on a violin by Claude Pierray, Paris, c. 1710.
