Adam LaMotte
 
Adam LaMotte, recently appointed concertmaster of the Northwest Sinfonietta in Seattle, has appeared with numerous ensembles throughout the country. He has become known as both period instrument specialist and pioneer of new music. Adam co-founded the Magnolia Chamber Ensemble in 1999, which has given numerous concerts to critical acclaim. He is currently a member of the tango collective Los Peregrinos and has appeared as a guest artist with American Baroque and El Mundo Baroque in San Francisco. Adam has served as concertmaster of the American Virtuosi Baroque Orchestra and as assistant concertmaster of both the Portland Baroque Orchestra and the Trinity Consort. Recently featured on NPR’s Performance Today, Adam has shared the stage with a variety of early music specialists including Manfred Kramer, Rienhard Goebel, Paul Goodwin. He has appeared as soloist with the Virtuosi of New York in 1997, the Portland Baroque Orchestra, and the Astoria Festival Orchestra in 2003, which he also conducted. A native of Houston, Texas, Adam attended the School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Past mentors include Kenneth Goldsmith, Edward Lawrence, George Neikrug, Daniel Phillips and Ani Kavafian.
