Diane Grubbe
 
In the San Francisco Bay Area, flutist Diane Grubbe performs regularly with Pocket Opera and Quinteto Latino and freelances with many regional orchestras including Napa Valley Symphony, Golden Gate Opera, Lamplighters, Lyric Opera, Festival Opera, Symphony Silicon Valley and others. Contemporary music performances include appearances with sfSound and Earplay. As a flute instructor Diane maintains a busy studio in Noe Valley, San Francisco; is on faculty at the Hamlin School and the Northern California Music and Art Culture Center; and coaches the flute section of the Young People’s Symphony Orchestra in Berkeley and the wind section of the San Jose Youth Symphony. Diane earned a Bachelors degree from San Francisco State University and a Masters degree in flute performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Her instructors included Paul Renzi and Tim Day, past and present principal flutists of the San Francisco Symphony, respectively.
