Steve Senft-Herrera

Steve Senft-Herrera has been part of the San Francisco Bay Area Latin and Afro-Cuban music scene since 1993. His strong “tumbao” and reliable sound has brought him recognition and respect from the local Latin groups, and led to high demand for his talent. Senft-Herrera has played with Mark Levine’s Latin Tinge, Jesús Diaz and his QBA, and John Calloway, among many other groups. His teachers include bassist Glenn Richman, percussionists Michael Spiro and Roberto Borrell, and pianist Guillermo Céspedes. He has played with the Cuban music ensemble, Orquesta La Moderna Tradición, since it was created in 1996, and with the Potaje Ensemble since 1993.
